Network Rail will a series of consultations on plans to “unblock the Croydon bottleneck”. The nearest meetings to us are at East Croydon URC Church on Tuesday 6 and Tuesday 13 November from 4pm to 8pm. From Monday 5 November to November 17 December it will also be possible to contribute on www.networkrail.co.uk/Croydon.
This is the first phase of a consultation to solve a major bottleneck on the Brighton Line. Plans include building two new platforms at East Croydon station, debottlenecking the “Selhurst Triangle” by removing junctions and building flyovers, adding another track north of East Croydon which means widening the Windmill Road bridge, and expanding Norwood Junction station.
