For many of us, our 2021 contact with the Fairfield Halls has been a visit to get our Covid vaccinations. But other parts of the Halls are coming back to life. There is a sign giving directions to the Yamaha music school. Resident companies Savvy Theatre and Talawa have been able to rehearse or hold courses there. A welcome email announced that the concert hall would re-open on 4 June with two (socially distanced) performances by the London Mozart Players and cellist Sheku, who is even more famous than on his last visit to the concert hall shortly before lock-down. The Fairfield’s website details several performances over the next few months – not as many as in the good old days but more are being added most weeks.
