PROPOSED 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT

20mph-sign667

Croydon Council plan to introduce a 20 mile per hour speed limit on roads in Park Hill (and other parts of Croydon). Major roads like Park Hill Road would be excluded. The Council say that this will improve road safety; discourage traffic from passing through; and encourage walking and cycling. Further details are given in the leaflet which has been sent to all households.
The Residents Association oppose these plans. We do not think that the speed limit will be effective since neither the Council nor the police will be able to enforce it. It will cost £290,000 to extend the limit to this part of Croydon and we think that there are better ways of spending this money.
We appeal to local residents to support us in opposing these plans. Send your objections to: objections@croydon.gov.uk – quoting the reference PD/CH/A62 by 15 February 2017. (Or write to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Croydon Council, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA by then.)
You will need to say why you object to these plans.
