Good(ish) news from Croydon Council. The toilets in Park Hill Park reopened on Friday, 9 July. Some minor repairs after vandalism took place. The absence of toilets has been one of the biggest problem for park users. Some just couldn’t visit the park, others had to vanish behind a bush. The reopening will be welcomed by many, but only if they are in acceptable condition. The toilets are just above the rangers’ station, near the top path round the park.
The toilets are now open. But a spot check at about 6.30pm on Sunday 18 July revealed they were closed – perhaps past the going home time of the person responsible. Worse, the smell coming through the wrought metal door was disgusting. We understand they are to be open from 9am to 3pm and will be cleaned when someone is available to do so.
