TRam network closures
School half term must be approaching. Tram closures are planned to enable essential track work from Wednesday 11th to Wednesday 25th February No trams will operate between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction, Elmers End or New Addington Replacement bus services will operate between East Croydon and Beckenham Junction via Elmers End, and between East Croydon and New Addington. I found myself glad I had posted my Christmas cards in good time for once. Hopefully other users of the post box o Park Hill Road near the corner of Selborne Road did the same. The box is all wrapped up and unavailable waiting to be automated. It's not April 1 but an internet search tells me about new features coming - solar panels will fuel the use of a QR code (I hope better than the one supposed to find the nearest working post box does - it's distorted by the sticky tape). An exhibition to enjoy
We suspect that some offerings by Croydon Council are ignored but don't deserve to be. One is the current exhibition at the Museum of Croydon. Forge:Industries of Croydon celebrates the industrial history of Croydon and those who worked there. it focuses on three themes - fabric, metal and brewing. Record litter pick
Many thanks to all who braved the warnings of wind to help clean up Park Hill. We had around 34 volunteers, which is a lot for us… and they collected 59 bags of rubbish, as well as some hubcaps, a suitcase, a metal trolley and various other bits of hardware.
