Many thanks to those volunteers who found the time to attend our litter-pick event on Sunday 12th June. We saw several new faces – which is most encouraging.
Together, we were able to collect 33 bags of assorted rubbish as well as a large suitcase, an abandoned sleeping bag, a wicker drawer unit, a tv monitor, parts of an abandoned child’s car seat, a bumper and various abandoned estate agent signs.
Although the bag count is slightly down on our recent record levels – we are still pleased to see the back of it! The summer litter pick is typically more difficult due to abundant foliage – which is a problem that we don’t have in January.
Thanks also to the Council for the loan of equipment on the day and to their contractor (Veolia) for their removal of the waste that we had collected.
Our next litter-pick event is due in January 2023. Watch this space, and please come along if you can.
