It was drizzly, and it was cold – but a valiant group of 14 volunteers attended our winter litter pick on Sunday 11th January. As a result of their activities:
- A total of 24 bags of assorted rubbish were collected.
- In addition, some nitrous oxide canisters, 2 empty suitcases, a wooden cabinet, some hosepipe, a set of moped headlights, a vacuum cleaner and a scooter.
A very big ‘thank you’ to our hardy volunteers, to the Council (for the loan of collection equipment), and their contractors Veolia – who promptly disposed of the rubbish that we had collected.
We shall do it all again in the summer months, so watch this space…
