Dear Resident
I hope that you all had a good summer, and have enjoyed your holidays whether home or abroad.
The next joint Police and Councillor drop-in will be on Friday 23/09/2022 1500-1600 hours at Lloyd Park Café, please feel free to come and join us.
The next Park Hill & Whitgift Ward Panel Meeting will take place on Monday 19/09/2022 at 1830 hours, in St Matthew’s Church. I will update the ward priorities for the SNT to focus on, in the next 3 months, as agreed and voted for by the panel in the meeting, in next month’s newsletter.
In August there were 4 catalytic converter thefts reported, please keep vigilant for this, and if you see anything suspicious call Police immediately, DO NOT approach them, as they are likely to be armed with weapons, most commonly, baseball bats, and will not hesitate to use them.
Please also visit, for more information, the MPS page for ways to protect your vehicle from catalytic converter theft:
https://www.met.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/catalytic-converter-theft/
There have been a few incidents in Lloyd Park in August, as you will see below, these are mainly related to Garage Nation. There was also a robbery and an attempted robbery, relating to the ongoing issue of 1 or more groups of balaclava youths demanding phones and phone pins, and threatening violence. There are various teams within the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and British Transport Police (BTP) involved in combatting this. On this subject Councillor Appleton and I conducted a ward walk last Friday, and knocked on some doors along Lloyd Park Avenue to reassure residents. At Lloyd Park Tram Stop, we met Manny the BTP PCSO, who was there as part of BTP’s role in combatting the robberies.
Please report ANY crimes through one of the 4 ways below:
- 999
- 101 (the non-emergency number for reporting crime);
- www.met.police.uk and choose the Report tab; or
- Croydon Police Station Front Office, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please DO NOT use the ward phone to report crime, as the team is not in everyday, it should only be used to make appointments with the team for reassurance and community visits.
